September 7, 2008

Finally! Here are the pictures from the September event! Thanks to everyone, especially PMO and the Red Cross, who came!

We will have the next Kids' PFT on Sunday, October 5 from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. at the Community Center.

Here are some helpful hints:

** Please bring water and snacks for your children.

** I am providing some snacks and drinks for the volunteers only. If you would like to bring a plate of cookies or chips for the volunteers, please do so! I know that they will appreciate it, although don't worry about it if you're too busy! We all understand! We not only have all been there, we're all there now!

** We need to stay with the children. Although the Marines will do a fantastic job of entertaining, we are still responsible for supervising our children.

** Have your children wear sneakers or court shoes. No heelies or hard soled shoes, please.

** We may have the opportunity to play outside; make sure you have hats, sunscreen, etc. for the kids.

** This is intended to be fun, unstructed play. If you think of some other equipment that might be nice for us to have for the children, please let me know! The program is for our children and we can, within reason :), do what we want!

** If your child has a sport they want to practice or special toy they want to play with, bring it and we'll find someone to help.

** Bring a sense of humor!

July Event, part 1

Here are some pictures from today's Kids' PFT event! We had 24 kids and 104 Marine volunteers! That's a 4.3 to 1 ratio, Marines to kids! Sounds about right! ;)

It was going to be easier to post this in different sections so please forgive me for taking the easy route!

Thanks SO MUCH to our incredible Marine volunteers, to the Moms who brought cookies, and to all the Moms who brought their children!

We'll see you at the next Kids' PFT on Sunday, August 10 from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. at the Community Center again. Please pass the word to the families of those who are deployed -- we need to keep all these Marines busy!
